AIDA, the International Water Academy of CORE Venice Lab, offers tailor-made field courses for universities and interdisciplinary student groups in the Venice Lagoon. Study MOSE operations and forecasting, coastal climate adaptation, salt-marsh and seagrass restoration, nature-based solutions, lagoon sustainability and the communities living with water. Students work with practitioners, collect field observations and prepare a documented output that can be discussed with local experts. Programmes, dates, accommodation and boats are configured with each university; availability and partners are confirmed case by case.

Format

Customised university field schools, typically one week. Suitable for groups of approximately 10–20 students and accompanying faculty; larger groups and simultaneous small-boat fieldwork quoted and checked individually. English-language teaching and hands-on activities. Dates for summer and early autumn 2027 by arrangement; no fixed open-enrolment dates or academic credits are guaranteed. University groups can agree the learning outcomes, field logistics, deliverables and any credit recognition with their home institution.

Logistics

AIDA can provide educational programmes and field activities independently of accommodation. Housing, meals, public transport, airport transfers and boats may be included or priced separately according to the agreed itinerary. Ask for an itemised proposal for your cohort.
